Virtual or Hybrid Meetings - ACRA, MOF and MAS consult on corresponding amendments to Companies Act, Variable Capital Companies Act and Business Trusts Act

The Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority, the Ministry of Finance, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore are running a public consultation on proposed amendments to the Companies Act 1967, Variable Capital Companies Act 2018 and the Business Trusts Act 2004, to enable the conduct of general meetings by electronic means. 

The proposed changes are timely in view of the revocation of the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Alternative Arrangements for Meetings) Orders with effect from 1 July 2023.

The public consultation exercise will run from 9 to 20 February 2023. The public consultation documents are available on the website of ACRA, MOF and MAS.
