SGX to consult on 9-year cap on ID tenure, and the disclosure of directors’ and CEO remuneration

September 2022

SGX plans to consult on imposing a requirement to make listed entities disclose exactly how much they pay their CEOs and directors.

Additionally, it also intends to limit the service of independent directors to a term not exceeding 9 years.

The proposed changes – which will be set out in upcoming consultations – are aimed at raising corporate governance standards of SGX- listed entities.
